July 2024
Construction is moving forward full tilt! In the past few weeks, the septic tank has been put in (which was generously donated by Lakes Concrete!), the well was installed, and the underground piping for the well was completed.
Our fencing contractor has begun working on the arena and round pen and is about halfway through that phase of construction. While all aspects of the project are exciting, the fencing portion seems set apart – probably because its completion is directly correlated with the arrival of our session horses.
And speaking of session horses, God has been moving in the hearts of a couple of local horse owners. We have found our main session horse! His name is Louis, and he is a very sweet 22 year old gelding. His pasture partner will be Smoky. Both horses are slated to arrive as soon as our fencing is completed. We also have two reserve horses available to use for sessions if needed.
Much to our surprise, God has been sending us passionate Jesus followers who want to help as session leaders once we open. For some reason, we were thinking that as we got closer to opening that we would need to start asking trusted brothers and sisters in Christ to consider helping out at the ranch, but God has taken care of that piece already. He chose the volunteers before we even knew to be looking for them, and spoke this call into their lives. As soon as the fencing is complete and our horses arrive, we will begin training with our session leaders.
God has also begun to provide us with monthly supporters. Eric and Jessica’s church, First Baptist Church of Bemidji, has taken them on as missionaries, which is a huge step towards being a fully-funded ministry!
A lot has been happening the past month, and as we head towards fall the progress will only accelerate. God has been faithful to provide for the ranch every step of the way and we trust that He will continue to do so as we continue progressing towards opening.
