August 2024

August was a big month at the ranch.  Our wonderful fencing contractor Parker completed our round pen and arena, at which point our horses arrived at the ranch.  Smoky and Louis stayed in the arena for a few weeks while Parker worked on fencing in our paddock area and pasture.  Completing the pasture area a few days ago, the horses moved into the green field and have been running free and eating to their belly's content ever since.

We completed our first service project, thanks to the wonderful teaching staff at Heartland Christian Academy in Bemidji.  With funds from a Thrivent Grant, fabric kits were turned into cuddly blankets that will be given to the kids that come out to the ranch to session.  Many of the individuals that we work with have little in the way of possessions, so it is nice to be able to send them home not only with loving, encouraging experiences, but also with something tangible to hold on to.

Construction materials for the barn were dropped off a few days ago, and the barn will begin to take shape in just two days from now.  Insurance for the building and operations has been purchased, and so we have planned a few fundraisers to bridge the gap in funding while we wait for our monthly supporters to join our team.  We currently have a t-shirt fundraiser through Bonfire that we are promoting on Facebook, and we are slated to host a Community Impact Night at Pizza Ranch in Bemidji on September 23rd.  Hopefully these fundraisers, coupled with our speaking engagements, will help spread the word and support for the ranch as we get up and running.

We continue to receive wonderful donations from supporters like helmets, saddle pads, and horse tack, which is always a blessing.  We have individuals signing up for sessions, and should be able to invite them out to the ranch to session within a matter of days.  Things are certainly taking shape, and we continue to be thankful to the Lord for His continued provision.

As we head into fall, please be in prayer for us:
 - that barn construction would go smoothly
-that we continue to make connections with those individuals that would benefit from sessioning at the ranch
-that we successfully forge partnerships with monthly sponsors
-that we are sensitive to the Spirit's leading as we begin sessioning with participants at the ranch

Thank you for your continued support and prayers!
